All of the original letters written by Thomas Jackson are now in possession of the Civil War and Reconstruction Collections of the Manuscript Division at the US Library of Congress.

Over the course of the next year, all of the additional materials that relate to Thomas Jackson will have been passed on so that the complete Thomas Jackson collection is in the hands of the Library of Congress. Researchers may make appointments to handle the original materials as per the current Library of Congress procedures. However, it is hoped that the quality of the scanned copies of the originals are a good representation of the original documents and may save researchers the time and costs of traveling to Washington D.C. to handle the originals.
