Ambassadors’ Notes

This is the first indication that we have that Thomas Jackson owned canal boats (“barges”).

While never curtailing his rope making business, he started selling coal a major commodity transported by canal in that region in those days. Thus this boat may have been used by him to transport coal which he then advertised for sale in Reading.
