Elizabeth Slater once more asking her father to take her home at the end of term

 

Elizabeth wants to know how her family wishes her to return home.

My dear Father,

I have great pleasure in writing to inform you that our vacation commences on Friday the 19th instant, and I shall be much obliged to you, to write and tell me how you would wish me to return. The Omnibus goes to Derby on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and if you will meet me at Derby on Friday the 19th,  the omnibus arrives there about 10 o’clock at the Saracens Head where I shall be very happy to see you, but if you would prefer coming to Ashbourne for me, I can be quite ready to accompany

you anytime you wish. The Church at Ashbourne was resplendent on Friday last, Mr. Niele preached the first sermon and you would have been much pleased with his discourse and his manner of delivery. 

We are very busy with Repetitions and making preparations for the closing of our school, and on that account you must excuse my writing you only a short letter. The Miss Pitcocks send their kind regards to you.
