Not “Just A Drop In the Ocean”

This present website holds all we know about the life-long impact of just one highly motivated person. A skeptic who learns just how much effort Thomas Jackson devoted to trying to influence the abolition of slavery, and compares that with the paucity of evidence the his efforts actually made a difference, might question whether all his efforts were effectively “just a drop in the ocean.”

This leads us to a consideration of whether all progress and change in society comes from such dedicated people who act as they feel they need to do, not knowing in advance whether they will “change the world”. This reality should reinforce all citizens to stand up for what they believe in, even if they cannot be sure whether the environment that they live in will result in their “drop” generating a “ripple” that in time becomes a “tidal wave” of change that actually can change the world.
